Arsenal are close to completing their second signing of the summer in the form of St. Etienne defender William Saliba.
The 18-year old has been one of the Gunners top transfer targets, and they have been competing with London neighbours Tottenham Hotspur for his signature. Now it looks like they are close to getting their man in a £26 million deal, although there is a catch.
St. Etienne insist that the player should immediately be sent back on loan for the whole of the next season, a request that Arsenal have acceded to in order to get their man.
The French under-20 international has been at St. Etienne since 2016, and made his professional debut in a 3 – 2 home win over Toulouse last September.
