Bordeaux want to sign Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny.
The 33-year old, who joined the Gunners from L’Orient in 2010, is keen to return to France after none years in North London, according to L’Equippe, who claim that discussions between the player and the Ligue 1 side have been ongoing for some time.
The defender has one year left on his current deal, and there are some reports that he has begged Arsenal to let him leave for free. However, they should be taken with a pinch of salt. Faced with a tight transfer budget and with the need to strengthen the defence a priority for Unai Emery, Arsenal are unlikely to let the player leave without compensation being paid in return.
Injury restricted the amount of appearances that Koscielny made for the Gunners last season but, on his day, he is still the best defender that the club have on their books at present.
