Bayern Munich have had a fresh bid worth £22.4 million to sign Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi rejected.
The German champions made the offer knowing that the England international is currently sidelined by an Achilles injury and is not set to return to playing football until September.
Hudson-Odoi was the subject of three bids by the Bundesliga side in January, all of which were turned down by Chelsea, despite the wishes of the player, frustrated by the lack of first-team opportunities under Maurizio Sarri in the first part of last season.
Now Bayern are ready to try again, and believe that Hudson-Odoi wants to make the move to Germany.
Chelsea are desperate to keep the player, and are ready to offer him a new five year deal to continue his career at Stamford Bridge, with the promise of regular game time under incoming new manager Frank Lampard, who will be forced to work more with the club’s academy graduates because of the transfer ban imposed by FIFA.
