United and Inter differ in Lukaku valuation

The possible departure of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan is on hold, after reports emerged suggesting that the two clubs are some way apart in their valuation of the Belgian striker.

United are prepared to let the 26 year old leave Old Trafford for £75 million, the fee that they paid Everton for him when they signed the forward in July 2017.

For their part though, Inter, who are now managed by former Chelsea boss Antonio Conté, are only prepared to offer £55 million for him, a considerable disparity in valuation.

One way that the impasse might be broken is if Mauro Icardi is included as part of the deal. The 26-year old Argentine has seen his relationship deteriorate with the club this season, and many at Inter want to see him sold, as he, and his wife Wanda Nara, are regarded as disruptive influences at the club.
