Spurs are set to complete their first summer signing in the next few days in the shape of a £15 million deal for Leeds United teenage striker Jack Clarke.
The 18=year old is one of the hottest prospects in the Championship, and Spurs have been monitoring his progress for some time. Now Mauricio Pochettino has been sufficiently convinced by what he has seen of Clarke that he is prepared to buy him.
However, Tottenham fans hoping to see him wearing the white shirt of their club next season as opposed to Leeds are set to be disappointed – Clarke is set to be sent back to the Yorkshire side for the whole of the next campaign as they prepare for another tilt at promotion.
Clarke made 24 appearances for Leeds last season – the vast majority of which came from the bench – but impressed onlookers with his ability and speed on the ball.
