Everton have begun negotiations with Chelsea about a deal for Kurt Zouma.
The 24-year old spent last season on loan at Goodison Park, and Marco Silva has told his Board that he wants to sign him on a permanent deal. That follows the Merseyside club securing the long-term future of another of their successful loanees from last season, Andre Gomes joining on a four year deal after his £22 million transfer from Barcelona was finalised.
Zouma will not come cheap and it is not yet certain how keen Chelsea are to allow him to leave, given their inability to sign players due to their impending two window transfer ban. Gary Cahill has left the club following the expiry of his contract, and there are fears that German Antonio Rudiger may miss the start of the next campaign as the result of a knee injury.
French international Zouma made 32 Premier League appearances for Everton last season, scoring twice.
