Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo is set to join Rangers on a season-long loan subject to completing a medical at Ibrox.
The 21-year old, who has made 13 senior appearances for the Anfield side since making his first-team debut in 2016, endured a frustrating season on loan with Ligue 1 side Reims last season, which saw him score only once in 17 appearances.
It is to be hoped that he will have more success in Scotland under Steven Gerrard, who he knows from when they were both at Anfield together. Rangers will be hoping that Ojo can have similar success with them as another Liverpool loanee, Ryan Kent, had with them last season. The 22 year old played 43 times for the Ibrox side last campaign, and was name the PFA Scotland Young Player of the Year.
Rangers are trying to negotiate another loan deal for Kent, but the 22-year old prefers a permanent deal, and the Glasgow side cannot meet Liverpool’s £12 million asking price.
