Frank Lampard is set to meet Roman Abramovich to discuss becoming the next Chelsea manager
Lampard is on holiday in France, and he is scheduled to meet with the Chelsea owner on his £380 million yacht Eclipse which is anchored off St.Tropez to discuss taking over from the departed Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bride, reports The Sun.
The 40-year old is currently in charge at Derby County, and there were talks over the weekend that the Championship club were looking to extend their contract with them. However, that is widely seen as a negotiating tactic to persuade Chelsea to make their move, with Derby set to receive up to £4 million in compensation for the remaining two years of his contract from the Londoners if Lampard is persuaded to make the move.
The former Chelsea and England international wants to take the job, and he is not put off by the fact that he has only one season as a manager under his belt so far.
