Manchester United’s under-23 coach Ricky Sbragia has left the club by mutual consent, in what is likely to be the first of many comings and goings at Old Trafford this summer.
A former manager of Sunderland, Sbragia presided over an indifferent campaign for the under-23 side last season, which saw them win just eight of their twenty-two matches. Like the senior side they finished sixth in their respective league.
62-year old Scot Sbragia was in his second spell at United, having previously served as reserve team coach between 2002 and 2005, before moving on to join Sam Allardyce at Bolton Wanderers as reserve team coach. He returned to United in 2017, but he has already moved on as the overhaul of the club gathers steam.
There is no news yet as to his successor, but Nicky Butt, who is in charge of United’s academy, is likely to be heavily involved in the decision-making process. T
