Tottenham have made a £10 million bid to sign Leeds United winger Jack Clarke.
The 18 year old is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Championship, but may have to be sold this summer following Leeds’ failure to achieve promotion, as they look to balance their books with the aim of launching a fresh challenge next season.
Clarke did not make his first start in a Leeds shirt until January, but had already caught the eye before them with his appearances as a substitute, scoring twice.
Spurs are one of the clubs that have been closely following his progress, and now they have attempted to steal a march on their rivals by making an early bid for him.
Clarke is tall for a winger at 6 feet 2 inches, and can play on either wing. Spurs do not consider him ready for the Premier League yet but want to buy him now to develop him.
