A potential swap deal involving outgoing Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could be on the cards.
Allegri made the surprise announcement that he is leaving Juventus despite winning five successive Serie A titles on Friday, and Pochettino has already been installed as one of the bookmakers’ favourites to take over from him.
51-year old Allegri has previously expressed an interest in managing in the Premier League and has previously been linked with vacancies at Manchester United earlier this season, and Arsenal last year. However, he turned down the Arsenal job because he felt there were not sufficient transfer funds in place, and would seek assurances from Spurs chairman Daniel Levy before taking the job at White Hart Lane.
Despite dominating the Italian domestic scene since he took over at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, Allegri is leaving his job with a year on his current contract to go, with the club hierarchy at Juventus concerned about his failure to deliver success in the Champions League.
