AC Milan are said to be interested in signing Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi this summer.
That is according to Italian publication Calcio Mercato who report that the Italian club are looking to replace 32-year old Columbian international Christian Zapata, and are willing to discuss a loan seal even if they cannot meet Arsenal’s asking price for the German international.
Mustafi was bought for £35 million from Valencia in 2016, but is unlikely to command anything like that level of transfer fee this time round, after a series of high profile blunders which have served to undermine his reputation.
The German is under contract at The Emirates until 2021, but the club are likely to be happy to sell him, as Unai Emery looks to reinforce his leaky defence ahead of next season, although the Spaniard has always been quick to defend Mustafi in public when he has been criticised for his performances.
