Manchester United are closing in on their first signing of the summer, in the form of Swansea City winger David James.
That is according to The Daily Mail, who report that United are set to sign the 21-year old for a fee believed to be £15 million, after tracking his progress closely throughout the season.
The speedy right winger came close to signing for Leeds United on transfer deadline day in January, but the Welsh side pulled the plug on the agreement at the last minute, and are now about to realise considerably more on the sale of one of their prized assets.
James has only one year left on his deal with Swansea. The club, mindful of protecting the value of their investment ahead of any summer transfer, left him out of their squad for their last round of Championship fixtures, to avoid the risk of him getting injured.
