Former England goalkeeper could be heading for France next season.
The 32-year old could be allowed to leave Burnley on a free transfer at the end of the season, which would enable the Lancashire side to save on his wages, which are relatively high by their standards.
He was signed at the start of the season to provide cover for Burnley’s regular goalkeepers, Tom Heaton and Nick Pope, but has found himself confined to the bench after the return from injury of Heaton, and has not played since Boxing Day, a match to forget for him and his colleagues, as they went down 5 – 1 at home to Everton.
Now it looks like the ex-Manchester City goalkeeper, who spent a season on loan at Torino, could be headed abroad again, with several Ligue 1 clubs, according to The Daily Mail interested in signing a player who has won 75 international caps for his country.
