Leicester want to sign on-loan Tielemans permanently

Leicester City will do all they can to convert the loan move of Youri Tielemans into a permanent deal in the summer.

The Belgian international joined The Foxes in January from Monaco in a six-month loan, with Adrien Silva going the other way. He has since impressed in his time at the King Power Stadium, making 11 Premier League appearances, and scoring 3 goals, the latest of which set Leicester on their way against Arsenal on Sunday, a defeat that virtually ends the Gunners hopes of a top-four finish this season.

His manager Brendan Rodgers said “he’s shown great efficiency since he’s been here, and, for his age, he’s got great maturity in his game”.

Tielemans is a product of the Anderlecht youth academy, having been associated with the Belgian side since the age of five. He made his debut for them at the age of 16, becoming the fourth youngest ever Belgian league debutant. He joined Monaco in May 2017 in a deal worth €25 million (£22 million).
