Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez has been linked with a move to both PSG and Marseille in the summer.
The 59-year old has yet to sign a new contract with the Magpies, with talks over a new deal having stalled in recent weeks, with Benitez looking for assurances about the club’s ambitions and willingness to back him in the transfer market.
Now, according to The Mirror, both PSG and Marseille could be willing to offer him alternative employment.
Despite winning the French League, the position of manager Thomas Teuchel has been weakened by their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Manchester United. And it was further undermined on Saturday when they threw away a two-goal lead to lose the French Cup final to Rennes on penalties.
Meanwhile, Marseille has an ambitious American owner, Frank McCourt, who wants to build the club up again to a major European team regularly challenging for honours on the biggest stage.
