Atlético Madrid have joined Napoli in monitoring the status of England and Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier.
Despite being a key part of the side that has fought its way to the Champions League semi-final, and is again challenging in the top four in the Premier League, there are some suggestions that Trippier could be available for transfer in the summer. That is because Spurs are looking to freshen up their squad by signing two new full-backs. As a result, Kieran could potentially find himself surplus to requirements.
The 28 year old’s current contract at White Hart Lane still has five years left to run, so there is no pressure on Spurs to sell him. A stumbling block though may be price, according to The Daily Mail. Napoli are prepared to offer £15 million plus add-ons for the player, whilst Atlético are not going to be in a position to offer much more.
