Sturridge could be set for Rodgers reunion

Daniel Sturridge could be set for a reunion with his former manager Brendan Rodgers.

That is according to The Sun who report that the Leicester boss is considering bring the forward to the King Power Stadium to boost his striking options, and to offer competition and support to Jamie Vardy, with Shinji Okazaki likely to leave the club in the summer.

After seven seasons at Anfield, Sturridge, whose is out of contract, is set to leave Liverpool at the end of the season and will be available on a free transfer.

Sturridge is currently awaiting the outcome of an FA enquiry in alleged betting infringements, is well down the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp, and has lost his place as back-up striker to Divock Origi at Anfield.

Whilst his injury record in recent years may deter some clubs from making a bid for him, he has had interest from China before, whilst there are several MLS sides also reported in acquiring his services. However, the lure of remaining in the Premier League with Leicester may hold the greater interest for him.
