West Ham are again being linked with a move for Roma striker Edin Dzeko – despite the Bosnian now being 33 years old.
The forward played under manager Manuel Pellegrini at Manchester City, and the Chilean wants Dzeko to join him at the London Stadium as he looks to solve the Hammers problems in front of goal.
Dzeko turned down a move to West Ham in January, but now Pellegrini is prepared, according to The Express to offer him more than £165,000 to move to East London. Although the striker is well-established in Serie A, Roma have been struggling this season, and recently sacked their manager and Sporting Director following their exit from the Champions League.
The opportunity for one last big pay day may tempt Dzeko who won two Premier League titles during his time with City to head back to England, and to join a West Ham side that have struggled to find the net since Marco Arnautuvic’s abortive move to China. That fell through, but despite signing a new contract, the Austrian has been out of sorts and form since the episode.
