Liverpool forward Sadio Mané is the latest name to be linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer.
That is according to Spanish publication Marca who report that newly reappointed Real manager Zinedine Zidane has identified Mané as the key man to strengthen their attack for next season.
The 26-year old Senegalese international has been enjoying a fine season for Liverpool, scoring 20 goals so far this campaign, 17 of which have come in the Premier League. He also played a prominent role in their 3-1 victory away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League, scoring twice.
Mané made his name with Southampton, before moving to Liverpool in the summer of 2016 for a fee of £34 million. He has since gone on to score for them 53 times in 111 appearances, and is regarded as a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s side, so any offers for him from Real would need to be substantial.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
