Despite being played out of position by Maurizio Sarri this season, Kanté is still regarded as one of the most indispensable players in the Chelsea team, and somebody that they would be loathe to see go. He is also the best paid player in the side, after signing a new contract worth £290,000 a week just four months ago.
French midfielder N’Golo Kanté has played down speculation about a summer move to Real Madrid,
That comes amidst reports that Real, now managed again by Zinedine Zidane, wants to sign Kanté as well as his team mate Eden Hazard when the transfer window opens.
However, he has pledged his loyalty to Chelsea saying “I am at Chelsea, and I still have aims here, what is said elsewhere is not important”.
That will be good news for Chelsea fans, worried that some of the team’s best players may want to leave the club at the end of the season. The Stamford Bridge outfit face a FIFA ban which will prevent them signing any new players in the next two windows, but that does not preclude players leaving West London.
