Mateo Kovačic wants to stay in the Premier League next season – even if it is not with Chelsea.
The 24-year old Croatian midfielder is on loan for the season at Stamford Bridge from his parent club Real Madrid, and, in an ideal world, would like to stay with Chelsea for next season and beyond. However, those wishes might be thwarted by the two-window transfer ban which has been slapped on Chelsea by FIFA for breaking the rules on signing under-age players aged 18 or under.
If the ban stays in place, and Chelsea are unable to get it lifted, then, according to Marca, Kovačic will try and find another club in the Premier League with whom to play, having found life In England more to his liking, than trying to break into the Real Madrid team, especially now that Los Blancos are now managed by Zinedine Zidane again.
The Croat has made 40 appearances for Chelsea this season in all competitions.
