Forgotten man Danny Drinkwater could be offered an escape route out of Chelsea by Roma.
The 29-year old midfielder was part of the Leicester side that won the Premier League title three seasons ago, and subsequently followed his team mate N’Golo Kanté to Chelsea.
However, unlike Kanté who has become an integral part of the Chelsea side, Drinkwater has struggled in his time at Stamford Bridge and has only made 12 Premier League appearances in all, and none this season under Maurizio Sarri.
Now, reports The Sun he could be about to swap London for Rome where his old Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri has just taken over as interim boss. Roma are on the lookout for a potential replacement for club legend Daniele de Rossi; the 36 year old is out of contract in the summer, and his future with the club is yet to be decided.
West Ham are also said to be interested in taking Drinkwater on loan.
