West Ham are potentially facing another drawn-out drama involving Austrian striker Marco Arnautuvic and his desire to move away from the club.
The on-again, off-again saga involving Arnautuvic and a move to the Chinese Super League was a continuous narrative throughout the January window, with the forward on the verge of leaving at one stage, going so far as to wave goodbye to the fans at the London Stadium.
However, everything fell through in the end, and he stayed, signing a one-year contract extension into the bargain which allegedly contains certain performance bonuses.
Despite that, Arnautuvic has been kept on the bench in recent matches by manager Manuel Pellegrini, seemingly as a disciplinary action, and now the forward is growing restless with the lack of game time, and is looking to revive his interest in a summer transfer.
In his absence, the West Ham attack has looked toothless, and he may be brought back into the side for the weekend match against the bottom-side Huddersfield Town.
