The likelihood of Eden Hazard moving to Real Madrid in the summer has increased following the reappointment of Zinedine Zidane on Monday as their manager.
It was confirmed on Monday that Zidane was taking over as manager again, just 9 months after he walked out on them after securing their third Champions League triumph in a row last June.
As part of the price for agreeing to take over the helm again, he allegedly has been promised a transfer kitty of £300 million, with names on the top of his shopping list including Hazard, Christian Eriksen of Spurs and Neymar.
His appointment could also mean the end of their careers with Real for players like former Tottenham stars Gareth Bale and Luke Modric. However, the good news for Spurs fans is that Zidane going back to Real means that talk of Mauricio Pochettino heading to the Bernabeu are now at an end.
Chelsea boss recently issued a statement claiming that he wants to keep the Belgian star at the Stamford Bridge but it is up to him to make a decision about his future. He said,
“I want Eden here, of course.
“But I want him here if he wants to stay here.
“The club is available to sign a new contract immediately, but it’s up to him if he wants to renew or not.”
“I know very well that there are discussions between the club and the manager of Eden every week, I think.
“So if there is something new, the club will call me immediately.”
Hazard’s summer move to Real Madrid seems very likely but Chelsea’s asking price could be the issue as the West Londoners cannot register new players until January 2020.
