Arsenal have identified a cheap replacement for the retiring Petr Cech.
With transfer funds likely to be limited in the summer, Unai Emery knows that he needs to husband his resources carefully, and with Bernd Leno firmly established as the club’s number one goalkeeper, believes that other areas of the team are in need of greater investment.
That is why, according to The Sun he is prepared to look to within in his search for a new number two goalkeeper in the shape of Argentine stopper who is already at the club, who is currently on loan at Reading. He has been at Arsenal almost a decade but has played just 14 times for them, including six appearances in the Premier League.
However, he has impressed during his loan spell with Reading, starting the last six games, and helping the struggling Championship side to two clean sheets.
Now he could be ready for a first-team squad place at The Emirates next season.
