Newcastle have a fight on their hands if they want to keep loan striker Salomón Rondón beyond the end of this season.
The 29-year old Venezuelan international is on a season-long loan at St. James Park from his parent club, West Brom, and has since become an integral part of the Newcastle team, providing a focal point of attack. He is also the club’s leading scorer with 6 goals.
However, if they want to keep him beyond the end of the current campaign, then they are likely to face intense competition for his services, with the bookmakers suggesting that Everton are the current favourites to sign him, as they search for the answer to their current problems in front of goal.
A clutch of other Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace, West Ham and Cardiff City are all said to be monitoring his situation, whilst interest from abroad will likely come from Spain and China.
Whatever he does on his summer holidays this year, Mr. Rondón would be advised to keep his phone switched on at all times!
