This season has been a bitter disappointment for Everton fans after starting with high hopes in August. And things could about to get worse.
That is after reports have emerged suggesting that Brazilian forward Richarlison has been linked with a move to Atlético Madrid with suggestions that officials from the club have already made contact with the player’s representatives.
The move will come as a big shock for Everton fans with whom he is a big favourite, having joined the club for a record transfer fee of £35 million from Watford only last summer.
The club’s top scorer so far this season with 11 goals has started Everton’s last few games from the substitute’s bench after a loss of form, but he is hardly unique amongst his Goodison Park team mates in that respect. Everton have lost their last three Premier League games and there are persistent rumours about the future of manager Marco Silva, like Richarlison a summer arrival at the club.
Despite this Everton will be loath to sell the 21-year old Brazilian and would be looking for big money in the event they did decide to let him go.
