Chelsea want to make Zinedine Zidane their new manager.
That is according to The Sun who claim that current incumbent Maurizio Sarri is living on borrowed time at Stamford Bridge after the club’s humiliating defeat against Manchester City last weekend, which has seen bookmakers make him the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job. .
They also claim that support for Zidane’s candidacy is gaining traction amongst the club hierarchy, and they are considering putting out feelers to the 46-year old Frenchman.
Zidane famously led Real Madrid to three consecutive Champions League triumphs, but dramatically resigned three days after their last victory in June and has not been in work since.
However, he is very keen apparently to manage in the Premier League, and is seen by many at Chelsea as the man to help lead them back to past glories, although it is not known if he speaks any English.
