French champions PSG are ready to make a summer bid for Chelsea and French World-Cup winning midfielder N’Golo Kanté.
That is following reports of a falling out between Kanté and his manager Maurizio Sarri over the Italian’s decision to deploy the 2016 – 2017 Premier League player of the year in an attacking position on the right side of midfield to accommodate Jorginho in his preferred role in defensive midfield. Kanté has made a successful transition to his new position, scoring three Premier League goals and finding the net once in the Carabao Cup, but he would still rather in the role where he has enjoyed so much success for both club and country.
PSG have had a long-standing interest in Kanté and are ready to test Chelsea’s determination to hang on to the player they captured from Leicester City for a £32 million fee in July 2016, with a major bid.
Kanté is under contract at Chelsea until 2023, having signed a lucrative new contract with them as recently as last November.
