Arsenal are close to signing Barcelona midfielder Denis Suaréz on loan for the rest of the season, after a breakthrough in negotiations between both clubs.
The two teams have been locked in discussions over the player for weeks, with Arsenal, cash strapped for funds because of FFP, wanting a loan deal only, whilst Barcelona were holding out for a permanent sale. The talks appeared to have come to an end after the Catalan club accused former executive and now Head of Football at Arsenal, Raul Sanllehi, of playing hard ball over the deal, with reports of bad blood between the Spaniard and his former colleagues..
However, now there has been a change of mind on both sides, reports The BBC, after Suaréz signed a one-year contract extension to protect his value, with an option for the 25 year old move to The Emirates permanently in the summer.
Suaréz could be ready to make his debut away at Manchester City on Tuesday.
