Wolves are close to agreeing a deal to sign full-back Jonathan Castro Otto on a permanent deal.
The 24 year old signed for Atlético Madrid from Celta Vigo in July on a six year contract, but, without ever playing for Diego Simeone’s men, was immediately loaned to Wolves, on a season long loan. He has since impressed during his time in the Premier League, making 19 appearances, and scoring once against Southampton in September. He has also forced his way into the Spanish national side, making his debut against Wales in October.
Now the player, familiarly known as Jonny, is set to move to the West Midlands on a permanent basis, with Wolves taking advantage, according to The Telegraph of a clause in the loan agreement which allowed the two clubs to make such an arrangement during the January transfer window.
The fee to sign him is expected to be £18 million, which will equal the club record amount which they paid to sign Adama Traore from Middlesbrough in August.
