The move of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez to Arsenal on loan looks to be edging closer.
The 24-year old who played under Unai Emery at Sevilla has been linked with a move to the Emirates since the start of the window, but negotiations have been hampered with the Spanish club wanting to make his sale permanent, whilst Arsenal, who are constrained by the requirements of Financial Fair Play, are only prepared to make loan signings in the present climate.
Now it appears as if there might be a breakthrough, with reports that Arsenal have agreed a loan fee of £1.7 million to sign the player for the rest of the season with no obligation to buy in the summer, whilst Suarez himself has begun to follow Arsenal players on social media.
Although he played as a substitute in their Copa del Rey win over Levante in the week, Suarez has been left out of their 24-man squad to face Leganes on Sunday.
