Arter loan spell at Cardiff may be cut short

Harry Arter’s loan spell with Cardiff City move be set to end prematurely with reports linking the player with permanent moves, with several clubs said to be interested in signing the Republic of Ireland international.

Arter is at Cardiff on a season-long loan from Bournemouth, but despite the player establishing himself as a firm favourite with the local fans, and enjoying the chance to play regular first-team football again, several opportunities have now emerged which may see his time in Wales brought to a premature end.

Watford are thought to have expressed an interest in signing the midfielder as a direct replacement for Abdoulaye Doucouré who has been linked with a high profile move to PSG. And Aston Villa are also in the running as they look to mount a promotion push in the second half of the season.

The 29-year old is under contract with Bournemouth until 2021, but the South Coast club may decide this is the moment to cash in on him whilst he is demand.
