Atlético Madrid have emerged as front runners to sign Chelsea flop Alvaro Morata.
The former Real Madrid striker has been linked with a move back to Spain just 18 months after joining Chelsea for a record transfer fee of £60 million. However, he has failed to settle in London and in the Premier League, finding the net just seven times in 47 appearances.
Only one of those goals has come this season, where he has found himself relegated, often as not to the bench, with manager Mauricio Sarri preferring instead to deploy Eden Hazard in an advanced forward role.
Morata has been linked with both Sevilla and Barcelona over the past few weeks but, according to Sky Sports it is Atlético, the club where he started his career in their youth ranks, who are now most likely to sign him.
If he does move to Atlético, he will find another former Chelsea striker awaiting him in the form of Diego Costa.
