Manchester City are not planning on making any signings in the January window.
That is according to BT Sport who report that manager Pep Guardiola is adamant that there will be no new arrivals at The Etihad this month. The Spaniard said ““If you have no injuries and you are satisfied, as in our case, with the squad we have, we decided going well, going bad, (we stick) with the same players we started the season.”
City endured a difficult December which saw them slip behind main title rivals Liverpool by seven points. However, they beat Jurgen Klopp’s men 2 – 1 to haul themselves back in the race, and, since then, have run amok in front of goal, putting seven past Rotherham in the FA Cup, and then handing Burton Albion a 9 – 0 thrashing in the home semi-final leg of their Carabao Cup tie.
They are now adrift of Liverpool again after the Reds’ narrow victory at Brighton on Saturday but will be hopeful of closing the gap when they host Wolves on Monday night.
