Antonio Valencia set for Manchester United exit

Antonio Valencia is set to leave Manchester United in the summer bringing down the curtain on a career that will have spanned a decade at Old Trafford.

The 33 year-old is out of contract in June, and with indications coming from United that they are not ready to offer the Ecuadorian a new deal, the players’ representatives have begun moves to find a new club for him, with The Daily Mirror reporting that Inter Milan have been identified as a possible destination for the full-back.

Valencia, who started life as a winger, before converting to a marauding full-back, captained United last season. However, he fell out with his manager Jose Mourinho at the start of this season when he came back from his summer holidays overweight, and was axed from the first-team squad. He has been rehabilitated back into the fold by new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but is still facing a summer exit from Manchester.

The player joined United in the summer of 2009 and has won 2 League titles, the FA Cup, the League Cup twice and the Europa League with the club.
