Arsène Wenger linked with Qatar job

Former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has been linked with the post of national team manager for Qatar.

That is according to France Football who report that the hosts of the 2022 World Cup would like the 69-year old Frenchman to take over and lead them into the tournament which will be held on home soil in three years time.

Wenger, who left Arsenal in June after 22 years in charge in North London, has been linked with a number of jobs in football, including the manager’s jobs at both Bayern Munich and AC Milan, as well as a Sporting Director role with PSG.

The Alsatian is not the only big name who has been linked with the Qatar job. Leonardo Jadim, manager of Monaco, manager of Monaco until he was sacked in October 2018, was also approached about taking over the post with the Middle Eastern team. However, instead he has expressed a preference to head to China where he has been linked with a move to Dalian Yifang.
