Chelsea are preparing a swap deal which will see Alvaro Morata leave for AC Milan and Gonzalo Higuain head in the opposite direction.
That is according to The Sun who report that Chelsea are ready to offload flop Morata who has failed to justify the £65 million price tag they paid Real Madrid for the striker in the summer of 2017, whilst manager Mauricio Sarri is keen to be reunited with Higuain who played with him at Napoli.
Higuain scored 71 goals for Napoli in a three year spell before moving to Juventus in July 2016 in a €90 million transfer. However, despite scoring 55 times for the Old Lady in two seasons, he failed to fully convince during his time in Turin, and was shipped out on loan to Milan at the start of this season in order to make way in their squad for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea are looking for goal scorer, with their existing frontline misfiring this season. They drew a blank against Southampton in their last Premier League match, and have been excessively reliant on the goals of Eden Hazard to keep them in the top four. It is also being reported that Real Madrid, after a below average first-half of the season, are more keen than ever to sign the Belgian ace and they will make a last ditch effort before the transfer deadline.
