Crystal Palace have lodged a £6.5 million bid for Everton’s Senegalese striker Omar Niasse.
That is according to The Sun who report that Palace have turned their attention to Niasse after a loan deal for Liverpool forward Dominic Solanke fell through after concerns were raised about the England striker’s fitness levels, with medical tests revealing he would not be fit to play for at least a month.
28-year old Niasse signed for Everton in February 2016 from Lokomotiv Moscow in a £13.5 million deal, but has since only featured 32 times for The Toffees, scoring 9 times. He spent the second half of the 2016 – 2017 season on loan with Hull City for whom he scored on 4 occasions.
However, he has not featured in the Premier League at all this season, and it has been 8 months without a goal, so whether he will offer Palace the potency they are looking for in front of goal remains to be seen.
