Daniel Sturridge could be offered a surprise new deal by Liverpool as the club look to fend off interest from clubs in Europe and China.
The 29-year old is currently out of contract in the summer which means he can begin discussions now with foreign suitors that are thought to include Sevilla, Valencia, Monaco and both Milan clubs, as well as teams from the Chinese Super League.
However, his manager Jurgen Klopp still values the competition and back-up that he provides to his current forward trio and, according to The Daily Mail are ready to offer him a new deal to stay on Anfield, albeit on reduced terms.
The report comes hard on the heels of the news that another Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke looks set to stay on Merseyside. The 21-year old was set for a loan move to Crystal Palace for the rest of the season, but the deal has fallen through because of concerns over Solanke’s fitness, reports The BBC.
