Italian club Roma are set to move to Crystal Palace left-back Patrick van Aanholt in the January transfer window.
They are looking for a long-term replacement for former Manchester City player Aleksandar Kolarov, and believe that the Dutchman could fit the bill, according to The Sun.
They report that they are prepared to offer £25 million for the 28 year-old and hope that will be enough to persuade Palace who has been one of their best performers in the past 12 months, generating money which could be used to reinvest in other areas of their squad.
The former Chelsea youth academy player joined Palace in a £14 million deal from Sunderland, and has since gone on to make 61 appearances for the South London club, scoring 9 times. He is also a full Dutch international, with nine senior caps to his name.
