Wolves ready to pay £17 million for Japanese winger

Wolves are ready to offer £17 million to sign Japanese winger Shoya Nakajima who is currently playing his football in Portugal with Portimonense.

The 24-year old Japanese international has been on the radar of a number of clubs in recent months, including Borussia Dortmund and Leicester City, but it is Wolves who are favourites to sign him with The Daily Mail reporting that the Midlands club have opened negotiations about his sale.

Capped six times for his country at senior level, Nakajima’s current contract has a £35 million release clause, but Portimonense may be prepared to negotiate as they look to raise funds to strengthen the team in other areas.

The Mail’s president Rodiney Sampaio confirmed that the deal to Wolves is 80% completed, and that “what is at issue is the payment of the entire termination clause or not.”
