The transfer of Ivory Coast midfielder Jean-Michaël Seri could be subject to an FA investigation.
That is according to Sky Sports who report that Seri’s lawyers have made a formal request that the circumstances of his move from French club Nice in July should be looked into by English football’s governing body.
They claim that Nice, in order to save on a bonus due to Seri and stage payments due to his former clubs Paços de Ferreira and ASEC Mimosas, manipulated the combined transfer fee Fulham paid to Nice for Seri and Maxine Le Marchand, and understated the relative amount paid for the midfielder.
Nice, who have denied the allegations, are being investigated by the French Football Federation.
Fulham have refused to comment on the matter but Seri’s legal team believe that, if a deception was involved, it could not have occurred without the active cooperation of the West London side.
