Everton want to make André Gomes transfer permanent

Everton are hoping to make André Gomes loan move from Barcelona into a permanent move.

The 25-year old Portuguese international moved to Goodison Park on a season-long loan in August 2018, and now, according to The Mirror, after working his way back to full fitness, manager Marco Silva is keen to convert this into a permanent arrangement because of the impact that Gomes has had at the club saying “ everything he is doing, his performances, how he is enjoying it, how he has settled in our dressing room as a man and as a  professional, it is quality”.

One drawback, however, is that Gomes, who is under contract with Barcelona until June 2020, has a £90 million buy-out clause. However, with Gomes indicating that he would prefer to stay in England, where he is a guaranteed starter, than head back to Spain where he has found first-team opportunities hard to come by in recent seasons, it is hoped that there is some room for negotiation to be had when it comes to negotiating a final fee.
