Arsenal are considering a swap deal in January which could see Aaron Ramsey move to Roma with forward Patrik Schick moving the other way.
Previously the new Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi had appeared to rule out the club carrying out any transfer business in January, but that was before the injury picked-up by Danny Welbeck in their Europa League clash with Sporting Lisbon last week.
Welbeck suffered an ankle injury that has been described by his manager Unai Emery as significant, and with the England forward likely to miss the rest of the season, Arsenal are now light on striking options.
Schick is a 22-year old Czech international who moved to Roma In a big money move from Sampdoria last year but, has seen his spell in the Italian capital blighted by injuries. He has only scored once this season and, according to reports he could be allowed to leave on loan in January.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
