Crystal Palace have been linked with a January move for Danny Welbeck.
The 27 year old Arsenal forward is out of contract at The Emirates next summer, and with no sign of a new deal on the table for him, the North London club may be prepared to cash in on him during the next transfer window, rather than let him leave for free next summer.
Unai Emery is happy to keep Welbeck until the end of the season as back-up to Alexander Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and he has already contributed some important goals in the cup competitions this season, scoring 5 times in the Europa League and Carabao Cup.
However, according to The Sun, a move to South London and the chance to play regular first team football may be an attractive move for Welbeck, especially as they are managed by Roy Hodgson who he played under when the 71-year old was in charge of England.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
