Former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko has indicated that he wants to return to the Premier League.
The 32-year old Bosnian striker currently playing for Roma has put the likes of Southampton, Cardiff City and Crystal Palace on alert after admitting how much he enjoys English football, although he cryptically admitted “ It’s probably too late for me to return to the Premier League, but you never know”.
Dzeko seems to have had a change of mind since last January when he turned down a move to Chelsea; the Blues eventually signed Olivier Giroud instead.
However, if he does want to move back to English football, he is likely to have plenty of offers, given the fact that he remains one of the most prolific scorers in Europe, and has averaged more than a goal every two games during his time with Roma.
He was also on the score sheet twice on Monday night as his country Bosnia beat Northern Ireland two – nil in a Nations League tie.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
