Jose Mourinho took a break from all the speculation surrounding his Manchester United future to travel to Podgorica to watch the home side, Montenegro, lose to Serbia by two goals to nil in the Nations Cup.
Although his own player, Nemanja Matic missed the match due to injury, Mourinho appears to have been on a scouting mission, although it is not clear which players he was monitoring.
United were heavily linked with Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in the summer, but failed to make for him; he appeared as an 80th minute substitute for another potential target, Mijat Gaćinović, who is currently plying his trade with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
Another player that he possibly had his eye was 20 year on defender Nikola Milenkovic, although separate reports are linking the Fiorentina player with a move to Tottenham in January, amidst continued doubts over the future of Toby Alderweireld.
Serbia won the match due to two goals from Fulham’s Aleksander Mitrović.
