Everton linked with surprise Samir Nasri move

Everton have been linked with a surprise move for former Arsenal and Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri.

The 31-year is a free agent at present, having left his last side, Turkish team, Anatalyaspor, in January. However, he is currently serving a ban from football for failing a drugs test after an intravenous drip treatment that he received at a Los Angeles clinic whilst on holiday in December 2016.

On loan with Sevilla at the time, the private medical treatment given to Nasri saw him receive 500 millilitres of hydration in the form of sterile water, six times the level proscribed by WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency.

He was initially given a six months ban in February 2018 by UEFA, although that was extended in August following an appeal by their ethics and disciplinary inspector.

Despite this, he is free to train with professional clubs again from next month, and, as The Daily Mail reports, Everton manager has discussed the possibility of bringing the former French international to Goodison Park with his staff.
